Shalom is a Hebrew word meaning peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare and tranquility and can be used idiomatically to mean both hello and goodbye.

It is also one of G-d's names. The Talmud explains, "The entire Torah is for the sake of the ways of shalom".

The psalm written is a song made of four sentences. The song opens with an appeal to all people: "Request the welfare of Jerusalem"!
And as if the request was fulfilled, he turnes to Jerusalem and speaks as a man to his beloved: "may those who love you enjoy tranquility".
Just as they seek your well-being, so you will bring them peace. And the poet continues to bless Jerusalem:
"May there be peace in your wall, tranquility in your palaces".
The blessing is upon all the parts of Jerusalem, from the lowest wall around the city, to the biggest palace inside of it.
This psalm expresses the love for the Holy capital, Israel's heart – with the blessing of peace and prosperity.

This artwork is made from the letters of the verse in calligraphy, combined with color stains.
