The psalm in Tehilim (chapter 123, verse 2) says: “A Song of Ascents of David ; I rejoiced when they said unto me: 'Let us go unto the house of the LORD ; Our feet are standing within thy gates, O Jerusalem”.
King David desired for all of his life to build the Temple, but only his son, Solomon, had the honor to do so. In the book of Tehilim, David describes his passion to see the house of the L-ord and the greatness of Jerusalem, who’s gates are filled with pilgrims who have come to be united with the holy city and the Temple.
